As you know, tomorrow is held in Chile on "Day of the Evangelical Churches," a very bad name because, in my opinion, the commemorative holiday should have .. and he has not.
While it is a holiday purely Protestant (and thus the evangelical church can be attached to the celebrations) therefore marks, I think many of today's churches, which celebrate this day, not only doctrinally opposed to what that day was postulated by Luther, but they do not even consider the Lutherans his brothers (plop!).
Some Inconsistencies among Evangelical Churches and the tenets of Luther
The 95 theses that were hung in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517, speak of the grace of God and how God's favor (like salvation) can not be bought with money. However, in many evangelical churches are preaching the buying favors from God through money. Those involved in this belief, they are able to donate furniture, hardly amounts of money have, cars, etc., because they are promised that in doing so, receive blessings from God, much more money and everything will be okay. In other words, the value of the grace of God is relegated to a lower value in daily life. Here the principle is "buy your freepass" the upper class, as was the freepass the sky in the sixteenth century. This doctrine is called "Prosperity Doctrine" and often leads to prosperity only religious leader who imposes it on his parishioners.
Now, I refer to Luther's own. Mainly "Sola fide", "Sola gratia, sola Scriptua" and "Solus Christus:
1. Sola gratia (grace alone): This refers to the justification only from the grace of Jesus . The works, including the church rites and any other human endeavor, not the cause of man's salvation, but the death of Christ and through Him, through faith, salvation is obtained, so that nobody believes he was saved by his own merit, or for the glorification of his own works. Therefore, salvation is by the grace of God alone. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
2. Sola fide (faith alone): Faith is all that through the grace of God saves. No work can save, only faith. Says the apostle Paul: "For in the gospel the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, The just shall live by faith." (Romans 1:16-17)
3. Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone): The only source of Christian revelation is the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. It is considered as the Old Testament, only the Hebrew Canon, so called Deuterocanonical are excluded, which are accepted by the Catholic faith, and who were already in the Greek version of the Old Testament in Greek (Septuagint).
4. Solo Christo (Christ alone): The only basis of the Protestant faith is Jesus. "Because no one can lay any foundation than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ "(1 Corinthians 3:11)." There is one God and one mediator between God and man Christ Jesus "(1 Timothy 2:5)
Ya, we Parts:
1. Only the grace: "If you want to be safe, stop sinning" (where was Christ?). "Those who smoke will go to hell", "Salvation is lost", "Catholics will to hell "(we've all heard things like some evangelical).
2. Only faith:" Those who do not speak in tongues, are saved, or not? "," To be saved you have to stop being a lesbian " "If you want to be safe, stop going to parties," the mundane music listeners will not go to heaven "
3. Only the Scripture:" We believe in the Fourth Dimension by David Yonggi Cho, "" God gave the revelation to Cesar Castellanos, just as He called Abraham "," God revealed to the pastor we should do spiritual warfare against the batucada "," Do not read both the Bible, seeking the Holy Spirit. "
4. Only Christ," (said by a pastor) I told my daughter that if she went to the party, would take the COVERAGE. She begged me not to do so, and I told him then would have to stay, and he did. "
I want to explain that with this I do not demean people really believe in these things. Only claim that they should not install your holiday on a date that is not theirs to hold, because that date, but could be significant (because from that Protestants were generated from a string of about 15 divisions they appeared) does not represent them. Especially to those who believe that Protestants are not saved by not having other things such as "the revelation of the Spirit."
This text does not mean to imply that any doctrine is more correct than another (because they do not know, and at this point last thing I care about is who has more or less right) but not mix apples and oranges. If the stop suffering, or the Jehovah's Witnesses join in the celebrations, evangelicals are upset. Today I, as a mere spectator, I feel uncomfortable with this event. Luther
I hope you're not rolling over in his grave.
"Because your serene majesty and gentlemen looking for a simple answer, I will give this: Unless I be convinced by the testimony of the Scriptures or by clear reason (for I trust not only in the Pope and in the councils, because it is known to have erred and have been contradicted), I am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted and my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I can not and will not recant anything, because it is not safe nor right to go against conscience. "
Martin Luther before the Diet of Worms, 1521.
